大字不识一筐的冯天魁（陈宝国 饰）是川军永州警备司令兼66师师长，心血来潮的他自封陆海空三军司令，却在上任大典上遭英国炮艇轰击，军委会中将参谋长贺国光（姚刚 饰）认为冯就是一个什么都不懂的莽夫。由于冯天魁手握川军重兵，国民党反动势力、日伪侵略势力等都对他不敢掉以轻心，并伺机拉拢他为已用。看似鲁莽的冯天魁有时却心细如发，他以不变应万变，多次粉碎敌人的阴谋诡计。 卢沟桥事变后，冯天魁率部走出四川北上抗日，他的部队逐渐在战斗中打出了国威，特别在台儿庄战役中，面对数倍于已的日寇，冯天魁率部浴血七昼夜，最终全部壮烈殉国......。White Lies is described as an “urgent exploration of race and privilege, inequality and identity.” Set in the wealthy neighbourhood of Bishopscourt, Cape Town, the series is described as following investigative journalist Edie Hansen (Dormer) as she gets caught up in the ugly underbelly that lies beneath the picturesque beauty of the city, dragging her back to a turbulent past....。
