在新生ALO中，桐人、亚丝娜和结衣谈到了鲸鱼，从没有见过鲸鱼的结衣对鲸鱼非常感兴趣，为了帮助结衣桐人想到了新生ALO中海边的任务。不料直叶却不会游泳，为了能正常进行海边的任务大家决定对直叶进行游泳特训。与此同时，桐人被菊冈诚二郎以“心理咨询”的名义骗至心理咨询室，并从桐人处详细调查了“SAO”和“ALO”等事件。桐人离开菊冈诚二郎处后登入新生ALO与大家一起进行了“深海掠夺者”的任务，最终返回时结衣如愿以偿地见到了鲸鱼。后桐人再次接到了菊冈诚二郎的电话。（打算委托桐人调查“GGO”，此时剧情进入“幽灵子弹篇”）。A group of 20 somethings want to end the summer on a high, they take the advice from a girl they met at a festival about a secret rave deep in the Valleys. When their route is detoured they have no choice but to venture into the unknown.
